By Breaking Belize News: A Ladyville resident is out on bail after being charged with attacking a police officer while at the police station.
Twenty-two-year-old Allen Anderson appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, answering to one count of aggravated assault upon Inspector, Enrique Aldana and one count of assaulting a police officer. He was also read a second count of a second charge for assaulting a police officer with respect to an attack on PC Carlton Anderson.
He was offered bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet. Anderson is due back in court on November 22.
The allegations against him are that on Friday, September 9, Inspector Aldana was performing duties in Ladyville when he saw Anderson. The inspector approached Anderson and informed him that he was wanted for aggravated assault. Anderson then allegedly attacked Inspector Aldana in an attempt to escape.
Further allegations against him are that on Saturday, September 10, whilst in the cell block, he attacked constable Anderson.
