By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Today, Hon. Anthony Mahler presented a cheque for $2,000 to the Belize Mental Health Association in celebration of World Mental Health Day on 10th October,” said the Belize Tourism Board in a social media post.

World Mental Health Day is being observed this year under the theme “Mental Health in an Unequal World”.

The BTB said Kathy Esquivel received the donation on behalf of the Belize Mental Health Association, adding that the donation will be used towards the association’s upcoming annual speech competition. That competition will focus on the effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on young people’s mental health.
