Altitude vs San Pedro Pirates backmatch to be played on Wednesday in Independence

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: They’ve tried to play it twice, and twice the match between Altitude and the San Pedro Pirates had to be postponed. The Premier League of Belize has now set the match for 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 19, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.

The match was originally set to play on Saturday, September 24, as part of the PLB’s Week 9. But rain caused the game to be changed to the following Wednesday, September 28, but again rain said no. San Pedro had already started to travel to Independence and had to turn back.

So, the PLB finally settled for this Wednesday. Hopefully, rain won’t interfere with the plans this time.

Altitude, who are now in the top spot with 25 points, are aiming at cementing their lead over both the Pirates and Verdes who have 21 points.

The Pirates, for their part, are trailing Verdes by goal differential though they have played one game less. A draw or win will put them ahead of the present champions. A win will put them closer to Altitude going into the playoffs.

Makes for a fabulous game when they meet tomorrow night in Independence.
