Cop knocked down and killed while processing crime scene

By Aaron Humes: Police mourn one of their own after an unfortunate run-in with a vehicle while on the job on Monday night.

Corporal of Police Shannon Middleton, 34, of Camalote, Cayo District, was according to Police, processing a crime scene near Mile 58 on the George Price Highway near Unitedville.

A gray Honda vehicle being driven on the highway at the time by one Luis Mejia, a mechanic, broadside Corporal Middleton, reportedly knocking him down and dragging him into the culvert drain, causing ultimately fatal injuries.

Mejia remains hospitalized in stable condition as the Police investigation continues.
