Altitude beat Progresso 1-0, qualify for Premier League of Belize Final

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Altitude edged Progresso 1-0 at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday night gaining the first ticket for the Premier League of Belize Final which kicks off next weekend.

Colombian Miguel Garcia scored the only goal of the match in the 58^th minute in a very tight match that saw the regular season winners triumph on a 3-1 aggregate score having won game one 2-1 in Orange Walk last Sunday.

Altitude were without their captain Dellon ‘Dee Breezy’ Torres, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear to his right knee after scoring the opening goal in the first semifinal in Orange Walk.

Verdes and the San Pedro Pirates fight for the second ticket in their second semifinal on Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio. They drew 2-2 in their first match at San Pedro last Saturday.
