U.S. Embassy’s health unit hosts CPR training for nursing staff in Belmopan

Posted: Wednesday, November 23, 2022. 9:59 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the United States Embassy in Belize hosted the final of a series of CPR training to the nursing staff of the Western Regional Hospital.

“The United States continues its commitment to prevent, mitigate, and respond – assisting our Belizean partners to build capabilities in health and security,” the U.S. Embassy said.

The training was facilitated through an ongoing partnership and by the U.S. Embassy Health Unit.

“These life support classes are giving nurses and other first responders hands-on training to identify severe life-threatening emergencies and provide high-quality, life-saving aid to patients. With today’s final session, all nursing staff at the hospital will be trained in CPR and the Embassy will train public health staff in other regions of the country,” the U.S. Embassy added.

The longstanding partnership between the United States and Belize included essential medical care to Belizeans and the donation of critical medical equipment, supplies, and training.

“#WeStandWithBelize, as the world’s largest donor to bilateral assistance in health – showing up for our partners when called upon,” the U.S. Embassy said.
