By Rubén Morales Iglesias: While its work crews were cleaning the Consejo Road in the Corozal District on Wednesday, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) asked Belizeans not to pollute our highways.
“You’ll never find a Belizean throwing garbage on the side of the road in nearby Chetumal. But here in our own country it seems perfectly okay,” the MIDH said.
Not mincing words, the MIDH said polluting the highways is just ‘plain nasty’.
“As our team works to maintain the Patchakan Road in Corozal and to pick up your garbage, we ask again for our residents to do the right thing and stop dumping their trash on our roadsides. It’s just plain nasty.”
