International News: U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says “Mask up” again

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: As COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending the use of face masks again in New York City and Los Angeles, People reports.

On Thursday, the CDC warned that the increase in cases could prompt mandatory face masks in indoor settings to prevent the spread of the virus.

Communities including New York City and Los Angeles are rated “high” for COVID-19 levels.

Health officials in New York City are already calling on schools to return to students wearing face masks even if vaccinated.

There is also an increase in the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and respiratory illnesses in the U.S.

Health officials continue to advise the public to get vaccinated.
