Effective Monday, daycare centers will also close down.
Earlier this month, authorities in China eased restrictions following a wave of protests targeting China’s zero-Covid strategy.
The easing of restrictions has also caused concern since the number of COVID-19 cases is rapidly increasing.
Hospitals and medical facilities are swamped and overworked.
In Shanghai, an extra 230,000 hospital beds have now been made available.
Education officials say that students in primary and secondary schools would move to online learning from Monday.
