International News: President Joe Biden plans to visit U.S.-Mexico border for first time

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden said that he plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border during his trip to Mexico next week.

According to USA Today, Biden is scheduled to attend the North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico and has said that he intends to visit the border.

This is going to be his first trip to the border as President.

“I’m just going to see what’s going on,” Biden said.

The U.S. has recorded the passage of thousands of migrants at the El Paso border every month.

In December, the Mayor of El Paso declared a state of emergency after the U.S, Border Patrol released more than 10,000 asylum seekers and other migrants in a single week.
