By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In preparation for the Premier League of Belize Closing Championship which kicks off on Saturday, Wagiya Sporting Club is playing a closed-doors friendly match against the Silk Grass Ballers tonight at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga.

“Just a reminder that today is Wagiya practice warm match vs Silk Grass Ballers,” Nelson Moss, Wagiya owner/manager said in a Facebook post.

“The Carl Ramos will be utilized only by the Wagiya Semi pro team confirmed by the Sports Council because the whole field needs to be utilized from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.”

Moss said Wagiya will be working on ‘strategy and formation’ from 6:30 pm to 7.30 pm. That training session will be followed by the friendly match against the Silk Grass Ballers.

“It will be a closed session; gates will be locked,” Moss said.

“The cooperation of the general public is required.”

Wagiya kick off their participation in the PLB Closing Championship against Belize City’s Port Layola at 4:00 pm on Sunday at the Carl Ramos.

“We relish the opportunity to be able to consistently represent our town and we give thanks to the father,” Moss said in another social media post.

“We were unlucky last season not to make the playoffs but with our new additions we stand a better chance. Once again, we appreciated your support last season and we hope it continues,” Moss concluded.
