Truck overturns near Ladyville Evangelical Primary School

By Aaron Humes: Motorists currently on the Philip Goldson Highway in the Ladyville area are being advised to drive with extreme care as a dump truck overturned near Mile 9 ½ earlier this afternoon.

According to Police, the driver, 38-year-old Ruben Franklin, was driving toward Belize City in the red International brand truck when his brakes failed as he approached the bump near Ladyville Evangelical Primary School. He said he tried to slow the truck down by gearing down but he lost control and it overturned on the right side of the road.

Franklin said he was not injured. The vehicle is insured. Police remain on the scene as investigations continue.
