Belize fall behind in UNCAF U-19 Championship after losses to Honduras, Guatemala

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Under-19 Women’s National Team (U-19 BWNT) lost their first two matches in the UNCAF U-19 Women’s Championship and fell behind in Group A.

On Sunday, the U-19 BWNT lost 2-0 to Honduras. And on Tuesday, Belize couldn’t hold a 1-0 lead and fell 2-1 to Guatemala, whike Panama demolished Honduras 4-1. On Sunday as well, Panama beat Guatemala 1-0.

Panama lead the group with six points and are followed by Guatemala and Honduras with three points each. Belize don’t have any points.

In Group B, on Tuesday, El Salvador won a second consecutive game beating Nicaragua 3-1 while Costa Rica defeated the Dominican Republic 2-0.

El Salvador have six points, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica have three points each, while Nicaragua trail without any.

On Thursday, the BWNT play their toughest opponents when they face Panama at 11:00 am.
Honduras will battle Guatemala. In Group B, El Salvador close against the Dominican Republic while Costa Rica meet with neighbours Nicaragua.

The final games are scheduled for Saturday, March 11.

All matches are being played at the Olimpia High Performance Center (CAR CD Olimpia) in Tegucigalpa.
