Galen University hosts exciting Eagle Day 2023

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Galen University is hosting Eagle Day 2023, a vibrant and exciting Expo and Fun Day at its main campus, located at 64 miles George Price Highway.

The event began at 9 a.m. and goes through to 5 p.m.

Provost, Dr. Cynthia Aird thanked the Galen University family for their commitment, dedication and hard work.

“I am very privileged to lead Galen University in my capacity as provost and to work with a group of professionals and servant leaders who give of themselves selflessly on a daily basis to this institution we love. My colleagues are all eagles who soar high and work to ensure that u will also soar,” Dr. Aird said.

“Over the years, we have invested so much in Belize’s human capital development through our scholarships through our programs and through our informal programs. We are very proud of the graduates, many of you whom have served and who head several units within the public and private sectors and all of who make positive contributions daily at their places of employment,” Dr. Aird added.

Many Galen Eagles also return to Galen University as adjunct faculty and student affairs.

Eagle Day 2023 offers a wide range of activities designed to engage and entertain students, faculty, and the community.

Student club booths provide insight into the extracurricular opportunities available on campus, while the Eagle Egg Hunt and fun sports activities like teqball promise a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

The Harpy Corner is a special area dedicated to the university’s mascot, the Eagle, while the “Meet our Athletes” section will introduce attendees to Galen’s talented sports teams, including the Eagle Paddlers and Eagle Ballers.

Eagle entrepreneurs are also displaying their innovative ideas and projects.

For those with a competitive spirit, UNO and NBA 2K/FIFA tournaments will be organized throughout the day.
