President of Taiwan tours Sheep and Goat Project in Central Farm, Cayo

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the President of Taiwan, Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen is touring cooperation projects between Belize and Taiwan including the Sheep and Goat project in Central Farm, Cayo.

Chief of Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize, Robert Pan shared an overview of the project in Mandarin.

President Tsai was welcomed by Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, Jose Mai.

Mai says that since the commencement of the Sheep and Goat project and the intervention of the Taiwanese government, the sheep and goat industry has increased production.

In addition, Belizean farmers have engaged and benefitted from culinary workshops.

Belize has now submitted a project to ICDF Taiwan for another phase of this project to enhance capabilities in marketing and value addition.

The delegation will also tour the sheep barn.
