Wagiya change final PLB regular season game from Dangriga to Belmopan on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: While all the other matches this final regular season weekend in the Premier League of Belize have playoff implications, the Wagiya Sporting Club and Internacional-Bandits match is to avoid finishing in last place.

Being Wagiya’s home game, the match was scheduled to play on Sunday at the Carl Ramos Stadium, but Wagiya have opted to take it to Belmopan. Fan support has been rather poor in Dangriga with the team not performing as in previous seasons, hence the move to the capital which would lower expenses for the club.

The match will now be played at the FFB Stadium on Saturday, April 22, at 5:00 pm. The time also makes the game more accessible to fans as buses are still running at 7:00 pm by which time the game will be over.

Wagiya have three points while Internacional-Bandits have two. A draw maintains the positions: seventh for Wagiya and eighth for Internacional-Bandits. A win for either gives the winner the seventh spot and last place to the losing side.
