By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Salvadoran national found living in the Spanish Town area of Lord’s Bank is set to be deported back to his home country after being found guilty of an immigration offense.

The Immigration Department says that 27-year-old, Juan Antonio Rivas Guevara failed to present himself to an immigration officer when he entered Belize, to which he pleaded guilty.

Guevara was fined $1,000 which he must pay or spend six months in prison. Since he could prove no ties to Belize, the court granted a removal order against him, which will be carried out once he has settled his fine.

Guevara has been in Belize since June 2022.
