Subchampions Lake I to face Caesar Ridge in Final of Belize District Football Association’s Anthony Mahler Amateur Tournament 2023 on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Defending subchampions Lake I FC and Caesar Ridge FC will mix it up in the grand finale of the Anthony Mahler Amateur Tournament 2023, organized by the Belize District Football Association. The tournament winds down on Saturday at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City.

Lake I FC secured their place in the final by thrashing West Lake United 8-0 in the semifinal last Saturday. Lawnie Leslie scored twice, while Kenrick Cumberbatch, Gilbert Gomez, Deltroy Gamboa, Lawin Brown, Jerwin Carcamo, and Akeem Baptists added one goal each.

Caesar Ridge FC also advanced to the final by defeating Port Layola FC 3-1 in the other semifinal. Raheim Herbert, Jalen Bann, and Irvin Molina netted for Caesar Ridge FC, while Jaymion Cacho scored for Port Layola FC.

The stage is set for an exciting showdown between Lake I FC and Caesar Ridge FC on Saturday night. The winners will be the new champions of the BDFA. Who are you placing your bet on? Lake I FC or Caesar Ridge FC?
