“Football goalkeeper Woodrow West, Imari Galvez’s boyfriend was among the last to see her alive,” police report says

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Popular football player Woodrow West was reportedly among the last people to see 19-year-old Imari Galvez allegedly on Saturday night before she returned home and then later disappeared, a police report shows.

A missing person’s report made to police by 39-year-old Johanna Galvez, Imari’s mother, explains that West, Imari’s boyfriend, came to see her in a taxi on the night of Saturday, May 13, and Imari left with him. Imari returned, walking shortly after, saying that she would not go with West because he had been drinking.

Johanna Galvez said that Imari went to bed shortly after but around 09:00 a.m. the next day when she checked, Imari was not in her room and was not seen again since. Her phone also went immediately to voicemail, which prompted her to make a report to the police.

West was suspended for a football match back in March 2022 after a video circulated of him being violent towards Imari in public.
