By Breaking Belize News Staff: At the US Air Force Academy graduation on Thursday, President Joe Biden experienced a minor stumble over a sandbag, as per ABC News. Following the incident, the White House was quick to confirm that the President’s health was unaffected.

The occurrence took place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where President Biden was congratulating the graduates on stage through salutes and handshakes. Upon completing his greetings and turning to jog back to his seat, he tripped. An Air Force officer and two members of the President’s Secret Service detail were quick to offer their assistance.

Many observers, including those from the official delegation on stage, watched with concern as Biden, currently the oldest President in US history at 80, returned to his seat to conclude the ceremony.

Ben LaBolt, the White House communications director, took to Twitter to explain the reason for the fall. “There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands,” he tweeted, assuring the public that the President was not injured.

This event further fuels discussions about President Biden’s age and physical fitness, topics that have been seized upon by his political adversaries as he seeks re-election in 2024. Other minor incidents, such as a stumble while boarding Air Force One and an episode with his bike pedals near his Delaware home, have also contributed to these discussions.

Nonetheless, Biden’s personal physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, vouched for his health and fitness to execute presidential duties following his physical examination in February. According to O’Connor, Biden “remains a healthy, vigorous 80-year-old male.”

Public figures stumbling or tripping is not an uncommon spectacle. Such incidents have previously involved figures like former President Gerald Ford, GOP Sen. Bob Dole, and President Barack Obama. Notably, former President Donald Trump’s cautious walk down a ramp during the 2020 West Point commencement raised concerns about his health.

On hearing about Biden’s recent stumble, Trump, who was on a campaign trail in Iowa, expressed his surprise and concern. Recalling his own slow descent down a ramp at a US Military Academy graduation, he cautioned, “You gotta be careful about that … ’cause you don’t want that, even if you have to tiptoe down a ramp.”
