Kent ‘Bob’ Gabourel emerges victorious in Masters National Cycling Individual Time Trial Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: SPD-Kulture’s Kent ‘Bob’ Gabourel dominated the 18-mile Bermudian Landing Circuit to capture the Masters National Cycling Individual Time Trial (ITT) Championship on Sunday.

The event, organized by the Cycling Federation of Belize, saw Gabourel clocking 44 minutes and 13 seconds (44:13) to claim the title.

He was followed by Jody Williams, an unattached rider, who finished in 47:05.

Gabourel’s teammate Kenroy ‘Smokes’ Gladden rode in third in 47:27 and Daniel Cano finished in fourth place in 48:15.

The four riders will face off again on Sunday in the gruelling National Road Championship, which will span 93 miles from Belmopan to San Ignacio to Belize City.
