By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Caesar Ridge beat Flames from the Cayo District 1-0 in a tight game at Marion Jones Complex in Belize City on Friday advancing to the Round of 16 of the Football Federation of Belize’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC). Caesar Ridge qualified by virtue of a comfortable 3-0 aggregate score having won the first leg 2-0 at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio last weekend.

Despite the two losses, Flames are not necessarily out as they still have a chance to qualify for the next round since only the two teams with the worst records will be eliminated. With only one game of the return matches played, Flames are currently in last place. So, they must wait for the results of the other eight games that will be played on Saturday and Sunday to know if they’ve survived and if they will be eliminated.
Up to Friday night, Corozal’s Sarteneja, who lost 6-1 to Belmopan’s Napoles, had the worst record because of the dismal goal difference.
