Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts tours Suntown Chocolate Company in Taiwan

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On July 3, 2023, Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Dr. Candice Pitts joined the Belizean delegation on a tour of Suntown Chocolate Company that manufactures products made from Belizean cacao.

Founder of Suntown, Jerry Tang gave a comprehensive presentation on the company and provided samples of all the different products made from Belizean cacao, including chocolate paste, chocolate protein bars, chocolate wheat cookies and various flavors of chocolates.

Tang expressed interest in purchasing more cacao for some innovative products and interesting collaborations he is forging with other companies, such as the Wu Pao Chun Bakery, which had won the Best European-style bread.

The Belize Embassy says that it is excited for future collaboration with Suntown in its purchase of more Belizean cacao.
