Belize Weather: Lingering showers entering weekend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy spells and a few showers and thunderstorms, with more developing tonight especially in the south.

High temperatures peak at 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 91 degrees in inland areas and 78 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 78 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots and sea state is light chop. A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers or thunderstorms. An excessive rainfall warning is in effect. Excessive rainfall has been affecting the southern districts and this is expected to continue for the next 24 hours or so.

Tides will be high at 11:52 this morning and low at 7:07 this evening. Sunset occurs at 6:29 this evening and sunrise on Saturday morning is at 5:28.

Similar weather conditions to the above can be expected on Saturday.
