By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two men who were caught by police riding on a stolen motorcycle have been charged for handling stolen goods.

The driver of the stolen motorcycle, Anfernee Belezaire, 25, has pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, explaining that he bought the cycle with the knowledge that it was indeed stolen. For his guilty plea, he was fined $700 and has until November 30 to pay, in default six months in jail.

His passenger, however, Ervin Ramdas, claims he had no knowledge the motorcycle was stolen and was only getting a ride to a friend’s house when they were stopped by police. He maintained a not guilty plea and was granted bail in the sum of $800 plus one surety of the same amount. He is due back in court on October 31.

The motorcycle, a red Meilun, was reported stolen on August 23. On August 29, police stopped Belezaire and Ramdas who they observed riding a bike matching the description. They could not produce any documentation for the motorcycle and were arrested.
