Posted: Friday, September 1, 2023. 7:07 am CST.

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A significant traffic disturbance occurred at Belmopan Junction this morning, causing delays of over 25 minutes for many commuters. Several frustrated travelers reached out to our newsroom to report the inconvenience, describing the situation as “not passable.”

As of the last reports, the cause of the blockage remained unclear due to the congestion being too far ahead for many at the tail end of the jam to discern what happened. Authorities have yet to comment on the situation.

Rumors swirling among those trapped in the traffic snarl include talks of a potential accident, construction gone awry, or even a surprise demonstration. However, these claims remain unverified.

Readers and travelers are advised to avoid the area if possible until the situation is resolved. Updates on the traffic situation at Belmopan Junction will be provided as more information becomes available.
