25 honey producers benefit from Honey Induction Traceability workshop

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) joined forces with Resilient Rural Belize (RRB) to conduct a one-day workshop on Honey Induction Traceability at the Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College (CEMJC) in San Roman, Corozal District last Friday.

“The workshop is an integral part of a national plan and the strategic development agenda that aims to contribute to the growth and development of the Honey Industry,” MAFSE said.

The workshop’s objective was to educate producers on the importance of Honey Traceability for controlling and managing Pests and Diseases and Market Access.

MAFSE said the workshop also covered Supplemental Feeding and Integrated Pest Management for a productive and sustainable beekeeping farm activity.

Twenty-five honey producers, including women and youth, participated in the workshop conducted by MAFSE’s Miguel Huertas.
