King’s College beat Georgetown Technical 25-9, repeat as National Secondary Schools Girls Basketball Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Northern Region Champions King’s College beat Georgetown Technical 25-9 in the Final capturing a second consecutive National Secondary Schools Girls Basketball Championship on Saturday morning at Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio.

Last year King’s College, led by 2022 MVP Aldaeshuny Dixon, won the Final 20-18 over Western Champions Sacred Heart College at the Punta Gorda Multisports Complex in the tournament hosted by Toledo Community College.

Central Region Champions Wesley College won third place over Western Champions Sacred Heart College in a 39-29 victory. For Wesley, this year’s performance was better than last year when they finished fourth after losing the third place match to Delille Academy.

Sacred Heart College had been hoping for a better performance at home, but it was not to be.

On Friday, in the semifinal round of the tournament organized by the National Secondary Schools Sports Association, Georgetown Technical dropped Wesley College 31-17 to advance to the finals.

In the other semifinal, King’s College rolled over hosts Sacred Heart College 36-6.
