Man con bail for gun offense has bail revoked after picking up drug charge

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belmopan man, Luis Marin, is in jail after picking up a conviction on a drug charge while he was out on bail for a gun charge, violating the conditions of his bail.

Marin was brought to court on Wednesday on a bench warrant after he was convicted on December 29 for possession of a controlled drug. He was convicted in the Cayo Magistrate court and fined $305.

That conviction, however, violated the conditions of his bail for a gun charge he picked up in June 2023. He was charged with two others for possession of a firearm without a valid license and a count of kept ammunition without a license.
