The truck, intercepted late Sunday night was driven by a Guatemalan national accompanied by another individual, also from Guatemala.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, as initial reports suggest that the truck was heading towards the Belize-Guatemala border. The origin of the sugar and its final destination are under scrutiny, with speculations pointing towards potential smuggling activities.
As of now, there are no confirmed reports of injuries.
The Belize Police Department, alongside other relevant authorities, is actively working on the case. The identities of the individuals involved have not been released, pending further investigation.
