Belize City man and woman shot in vehicle

By Aaron Humes: A man and woman have been hospitalized following a run-in with gunmen on Wednesday night.

According to police, at about 10:50 p.m. 27-year-old Sherick McDonald was driving a red Range Rover Sport SUV along with two female occupants namely on Neal Pen Road, heading towards Maskall Street, when they saw a group of men standing at the corner of Maskall Street.

The men started walking away towards the end of Maskall street as the vehicle was approaching. Then, one of the men standing among the group pulled out a firearm and pointed it towards the vehicle and fired several shots towards the vehicle, causing injuries to Sherick Mckdonald and one of the female occupants. He then ran toward Neal Pen Road and escaped.

McDonald and the injured female were taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police have identified one suspect as their investigations continue.
