Belmopan Comprehensive School, Independence High School win 1st game in the National Secondary Schools Sports Association Girls Football Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belmopan Comprehensive School defeated Escuela Secundaria Técnica México 6-1 in the first game in the National Secondary Schools Sports Association Girls Football Championship at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga on Friday.

Belize Women’s National Team striker Khalydia Velasquez scored four goals for ‘Compre’. Michelle Garbutt and Heidy Lopez scored the other two goals.

Joana Basto converted Escuela Secundaria Técnica México’s only goal.

In the second game, Independence High School edged out Gwen Liz 1-0 on a goal by Glendy Garcia.

On Friday, Independence High were to play Belmopan Comprehensive at 9:00 am while Escuela Secundaria Técnica México should match up against Gwen Liz at 1:00 pm.
