Businessman charged for shooting man outside Belize City nightclub

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City businessman has been remanded to prison after allegedly shooting a man outside a Belize City nightclub and being shot himself when he did not stop after police made their presence known.

Richard Terry Williams, of an Iguana Street address, appeared in court on Tuesday and was read four charges: attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, discharging a firearm in public and discharging a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was represented in court by attorney Norman Rodriguez. 

Due to the nature of the offenses, he was not offered bail and has been remanded to prison until May 23.

According to reports, on March 9; Williams fired a shot at Drishaun Coffin injuring him. Police in the area ordered Williams to stop but he proceeded to follow Coffin so that’s when police fired a warning shot in the air then proceeded to open fire on Williams with a rubber bullet.
