Corozal 1st Division Championship: Champions Calcutta Bulls tackle Afghani on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Corozal Football Association (CFA) 1^st Division Championship features champions Calcutta against Afghani on Sunday at the Carolina Football Field as this weekend’s main match.

Calcutta have been struggling this season but whenever they meet Afghani, the match is always ‘high tension’. Action kicks off at 3:15 pm.

Before that, at 11:00 am, Corozal San Antonio face Club Atlético Tempestad in the opener.

That game will be followed by Sarteneja challenging Copperbank at 1:15 pm.

Last Sunday, Corozal San Antonio played the final 25 minutes of their game against Sarteneja and got away with a 3-2 victory.

Copper Bank then trounced Club Atlético Tempestad 5-1 before Ranchito Warriors held Calcutta Bulls to a 1-1 draw.

After those games, Copper Bank is the sole leader with seven points. The Ranchito Warriors follow with five. Sarteneja and Corozal San Antonio are next with three points apiece.

The Calcutta Bulls find themselves in the sixth position with one single point while Club Atlético Tempestad are in the cellar without any points.
