Cayo North’s political landscape intensifying with emergence of fresh contender

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The People’s United Party (PUP) has announced that applications are open for those wishing to represent the PUP as standard bearers as the party prepares for the 2025 General elections.

The political landscape in Cayo North has intensified with the emergence of 3-time Mayoral contender Ramon ‘Monchi’ Quiroz.

Area Representative Michel ‘Micho’ Chebat won the 2020 General elections garnering back the seat for the PUP after the UDP’s Omar Figueroa held on to it.

However, this time around, Quiroz and Chebat would face off in a contested convention to decide who will be the standard bearer going into the 2025 General Elections.

The PUP would then announce a date for contested conventions providing the opportunity for candidates.

Undoubtedly, the residents of Cayo North will go to the polls to select a Standard Bearer to adequately represent them and their needs and concerns in their constituency.
