By Aaron Humes: Deputy Mayor Micah Goodin has asked for, and received, an extension of time on his decision to resign from the position, the Belize City Council has confirmed via press release.
Following the introduction of a motion on the adjournment of a Council meeting two weeks ago to discuss Goodin’s recent behavior and various allegations made against him, the Council agreed to give him two weeks to state whether he would resign as Deputy or face recall by his fellow Councilors.
There is no indication of Goodin’s thinking one way or the other, but the Council ends its statement on a clear note saying it hopes his decision is made “in the greater interest of the City’s residents and the Council.”
