Belize Men’s National Football Team play must-win match against French Guiana today in Cayenne in the Concacaf Nations League B

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Men’s National Football Team (BMNT) is facing French Guiana in a must-win game today Tuesday in the Concacaf Nations League B.

The BMNT has got to step on the field pumped up at the Dr. Edmard Lama Municipal Stadium in Cayenne today at 4:00 pm Belize.

Last week Thursday Belize drew 1-1 with French Guiana at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. Horace Avila scored Belize’s goal in the 74′. French Guiana evened the score in the 89′ on a strike by Joel Sarrucco.

On Monday, Guatemala defeated the Dominican Republic 2-0 at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium in Guatemala City.

With only one point to show from their first three games, the BMNT has got to play for a win today otherwise the team will be heading down to the Concacaf League C

French Guiana lead Group D with seven points from three games. With yesterday’s win, Guatemala moved up in second place, with seven points like French Guiana but from four games. The Dominican Republic are in third place with four points and Belize are behind with only one point.

A win today would put Belize in line with the Dominican Republic.

After today all teams will have two games left. These will be played in March 2023.

Belize should host Guatemala on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, before travelling to play the Dominican Republic on Monday, March 27 at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo.
