BREAKING: 5 more COVID-19 deaths in the north; second highest death toll recorded in one day

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports that there are 5 COVID-19 deaths reported today. Three (3) of the deaths are males from the Corozal district – 2 in their 60’s from Concepcion village and Corozal Town and 1 in his 70’s form San Narciso village. The other two (2) deaths are from the Orange Walk – 1 male in his 50’s from Orange Walk Town and and 1 female in her 90’s from Trial Farm.

Total COVID-19 related deaths in Belize is now 107 representing a case fatality rate of 2.12%. Seventy seven males and 30 females have died so far due as a result of the novel coronavirus.

According to the Ministry, there were 17 recoveries today and 43.2% of our cases remain active.
