Recoveries shoot up as COVID-19 wave recedes

By Aaron Humes: The weekend saw more than twice as many recovered from bouts with COVID-19 as caught it.

Against 635 new cases, there were 1,649 recoveries. The number of active cases now stands at 6,147 with 219 samples under investigation.

One new death was reported even as the number of hospitalizations decreased.

Overall the percentage recovered is up to 87 percent as the national positivity rate approaches 12 percent of all tested.
