Cabinet approves new COVID-19 measures for foreigners ahead of lifting local restrictions

By BBN Staff: The Government of Belize has issued one final set of amendments to COVID-19 regulations ahead of the upcoming lifting of restrictions locally.

The new measures which were detailed in this week’s Cabinet briefing, say that:

1. All unvaccinated people 5 years and older entering Belize through the airport must show proof of a negative rapid test (48hrs) or a PCR test (72hrs);

2. All unvaccinated foreigners 5 years and older entering Belize through land or seaport must show proof of a negative rapid test (48hrs) or a PCR test (72hrs);

3. Belizeans 12 years and older wishing to exit Belize through air, land, or seaports must be fully vaccinated before exiting.

Cabinet said also noted that local restrictions for COVID-19 prevention will be lifted as of tomorrow, April 1, 2022, but still urged Belizeans who have not been vaccinated against the virus to do so.
