Wife of senior police officer dies in traffic accident

By Aaron Humes: The family of Lorelli Tzib of San Ignacio Town is in mourning after a fatal accident involving her and her husband this weekend.

We understand from family members that she and husband, police officer Assistant Superintendent Nazario Tzib, were leaving the village of Selena at the end of the Spanish Lookout Road when their vehicle went off the side of a one-lane wooden bridge coming off the curve.

Lorelli Tzib is believed to have died of her injuries on the spot, while Nazario Tzib is under observation and in stable condition at the Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan, with facial injuries and complaints of back pain.

Police investigations continue.
