PATRICK E. JONES Reporting:   A second prisoner has escaped police custody.  Sherman Rodney, 24, escaped from lawful custody last night in Belize City.

Reports are that Rodney, who was detained pending investigation of a robbery and theft, was taken to the KHMH for medical treatment as he was complaining of severe pain to the left arm.

Once at the hospital, a nurse took Rodney into a room for the treatment. When the nurse exited the room, the officer that escorted Rodney to the hospital went into the room to check on the prisoner; but lo and behold he was nowhere to be found.

Rodney is the second prisoner to escape on Thursday.

Earlier in the day Jarod Arthurs Lamb jumped out of the police van as he was being transported to San Ignacio town for a court appearance.  He remains on the run.
