Zone 1 chooses representatives for Cayo district Spelling Bee finals

KIMBERLY LOCKE Reporting: The representaties of Zone 1 were chosen to represent their area in the district finals of the National Coca Cola Spelling Bee.

Eliminations were held on Thursday at the Cancha Marshalleck in Benque Viejo del Carmen.

Allan Manzanero from Howard Smith Nazarene school in Benque Viejo del Carmen emerged victorius from a pool of 14 students from 7 different primary schools.

Runner up is Jayne Faux from Mount Carmel Primary.

Manzanero and Faux will now represent Zone 1 in the district finals which will be held on April 10 in Spanish Lookout.

Should any of these two students be unable to attend the district finals, the third place finisher, Karen Pacheco from the Hills of Promise Seventh Day Adventist School will be called on to step in.
