Domestic incident in Seine Bight leaves woman injured

PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: A woman from Seine Bight village in the Stann Creek district was the victim of a vicious beating last night.

Because of the nature of the attack, the name of the victim nor the perpetrator will be released at this time.

Police in Placencia have confirmed that the incident involved the woman’s former spouse who was apparently intoxicated at the time of the beating.

Police say that bruises on the woman’s body were clearly visible and she was referred to a doctor for treatment.

Police have detained the man who beat up the woman and charges against him are pending.
