Tuesday, September 9, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting:  Relatively moist and unstable conditions are dominating our weather heading into the second half of the week.

The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for cloudy skies at times with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly inland this afternoon and then over the south and coast tonight and tomorrow morning.

Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly to northeasterly at five to fifteen knots.  The sea state will be choppy.

Low temperatures tonight will be around 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland and a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.  High temperatures on Wednesday will range from 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland.

It will be a comfortable 78 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south

The tides: there will be a low tide at 4:13 pm. This will be followed by a high tide at 10:22 pm.

The sun will set at 6 pm.  It will rise again at 5:40 am on Wednesday.

The extended forecast, valid through to Thursday afternoon is for similar weather conditions to prevail, with a increase in cloudiness, showers and thunderstorms starting on Wednesday morning.

And that is a look at the weather, with information provided by forecaster Ronald Gordon at the Belize Weather Bureau.
