Corozal man detained pending charges of burglary

Thursday, March 26, 2015. BMG: Corozal police have detained one man pending charges for a series of crimes including burglary.

This follows an early morning incident on Tuesday in Calcutta village.

48 year old Jesus Mossiah reported to police that around 12:30 am on Tuesday, he was awaken by someone hitting him on his face and all over his body as he slept in his bed.

Mossiah told police that he recognized his attacker as his neighbor whom he has known for the past eight years.

During the attack, Mossiah says that he sustained injuries to his left hand, leg and forehead.

Mossiah says that also during the attack, his wallet which was under his pillow was stolen.

Police are awaiting the certification of a Medico Legal form but have detained Mossiah’s neighbor pending charges for the crimes of burglary, grevious harm and damage to property.

The damage to property charge is because to gain entry to Mossiah’s house, the front door of his house was damaged.
