April, 7th 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Three residents of Ladyville, Belize District are accused of keeping a prohibited firearm and ammunition without a gun license.

26 year old Kareem Arnold, 42 year old Mesheck Bucknor and a 17 year old female pleaded not guilty to the charges before Magistrate Ladonna John and were remanded to Belize Central Prison while the girl was remanded to Wagner’s Youth Facility. They are to return to court on May 27.

At about 12:15 on Thursday, April 2 police, acting on the strength of a search warrant, visited Bucknor’s residence, located on Conch Crescent in Ladyville. A search of one of the bedrooms resulted in the discovery of a home-made shotgun wrapped in a wardrobe that was in a suitcase.

The gun had a 12 gauge cartridge in the barrel. As a result, all three defendants who were in the house were charged.
