By BBN Staff: The Dangriga Chapter of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) will be hosting the first ever Dangriga Tourism Expo on Saturday, November 19 at the Alejo Beni Park.

BTIA advocates for the sustainable development of the industry and improved quality of the visitor’s experience.  BTIA Dangriga has therefore embarked on various initiatives to improve and enhance the tourism product for our destination, starting with the launch of the first Tourism Information Center in Dangriga on July 29, 2016.

BTIA Dangriga is also collaborating with local stakeholders including artisans, cultural groups and artists, as well as organizations such as the National Garifuna Council, to unite for the advancement of Dangriga as a viable cultural tourism destination.

The Expo will showcase activities promoting the Garifuna culture including food and entertainment, performances, and arts and craft displays.  It will also feature additional attractions available in Dangriga with the exhibition of local business and NGO’s entities, and opportunities to win raffles and prize giveaways.

The event is a family-friendly event with entertainment for the kids including bouncy house, water slide, face-painting, and hair-braiding.

It kicks off at 12:00 p.m. at the Alejo Beni Park in Dangriga immediately following the official Garifuna Settlement Day ceremony.
