Belizean elected to serve on Waukegan Township

By BBN Staff:  Sylvestre Castellanos, who hails from San Ignacio, is the first Belizean-American to have been elected to serve on the Waukegan Township, which is responsible for Waukegan, Beach Park, Park City and North Chicago.

On February 28, he was elected to serve 4 years on the Waukegan Township as one of four Waukegan Township Trustees, who along with a supervisor, make up the township board.

The Waukegan Township is a governmental agency, dedicated and committed to providing quality services to enhance the health, safety and general well-being of the citizens.

Castellanos is an active member of the United Belizeans of Northern Illinois Association.
