By BBN Staff: After a meeting this morning between police and media representatives, the ongoing boycott came to an end.
It was agreed that ComPol Allen Whylie, still has to approve requests for briefings or interviews.
When the ComPol is unavailable, his Deputy Russell Blackett will be tasked with such decisions.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams will now oversee the Police Public Relations Office (PRO) to ensure that information is shared with the media over the weekend.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Noel Leal, will now be responsible with producing situation reports for the police press office as early as possible and will also ensure that the sit-reps reach the PRO in a timely fashion.
The media today received copies of the police media policy that will guide how the police incorporate the media.
One month from today another meeting will be held to review the success and failures of this new model of information sharing.
